[Inglemia] Five Element Majors - News

The relatively unknown trade journal, "Inglemian Magical Research" which has been on the wane for over 15 years since the discovery of the Self Replicating Rune and the Mirror Tube used to cater towards the research of the noble houses, with interest for every new rune that came out. Eventually people stopped caring, instead purchasing magazines detailed information about the trade network, or more importantly anything and everything that they could find out about the mysterious Earth. However, this has now changed, and the magazine reports a major ground swell of projects. Some blame the war, others the new doge, but scholars do agree that it is as if some kind of mystical dam had broken unlocking research potential for the first time in decades. Interesting things are expected to occur.

Belatedly, the Senate has stopped its investigation into House Segglestaff. The Law Firm Wolfram and Hart has been placed on indefinite suspension, its own assets seized and what members were recoverable have been arrested. Many have fled through the mirror tube and are being hunted by Ether, Water and the Gendremaine. At the moment, only minors of House Segglestaff are known to be publicly alive, thus their senate seat remains empty and their lands still in custody of the Doge. However, they are not currently being auctioned off. Private sources in Water indicate that the break through in the case came primarily when a magical spell preventing investigation was broken by unknown means.

Interest in the mysterious Pearl Door has increased dramatically since the Five Element Majors explored it. The complex has been declared Off Limits by military fiat, though that only makes the public more curious. In an attempt to alievate curiosity, the city of Blue Port has begun selling tickets and using the proceeds to fund the rebuilding effort.

The Dwarves of the Mountain Kingdoms have invaded the Charlands. In an attack of astonishing ferocity and speed, Dwarves have occupied at least one third of their territory and decimated the dragon and half dragon populations. Word is leaking out that recently the dwarves discovered that the half dragons were responsible for the theft of the rediscovered Crown of Kings. The Dwarves have also sent a missive, rather publicly with over a thousand dwarves marching to MountPort, going through the mirror tube to Inglemia, and marching directly to the Oriculcum Throne. At this point there were two legions and an airfleet monitoring them, but the heads of nine of the twelve major clans, very formally and very politely requested in writing, "We know you have it. Thank you for its recovery. Return it to us forthwith." No other details were provided. The Dwarves have shown Drill Machines laced with Xarthak armor which, among other things, proves highly resistant to dragon flame. Apparently Xarthak isn't only highly deadly against Inglemian defenses. The Charlands have invoked the mutual defense clause of treaty of the Axis of Xarthak. Thus far, the Perfect Dominion, the Shard and Iosal have not yet responded.

The Third Air Fleet has been recalled from the front line with the Mirrortube at Greyhawk and recieved a heroes welcome and Flicker Tape parade. By royal decree, the Doge has moved replacements for their unit to the had of the building queue in the Protport shipyards.

An emissary from Melnibone has arrived at Inglemia and is interested in establishing formal relations.

The Doge has granted royal titles to each of the Five Element Majors out of gratitude at the valiant but ultimately failed efforts to save his son, giving them formal estates in Sosori lands (albiet small). Knighthoods are rarely bestowed in this modern era, but noble titles still carry a certain status in certain social circles and are often very impressive to less advanced societies in trade network worlds where it isn't a wizard's spellpower but his lands that tend to matter more. Rumor has it that Dame Eshante was so annoyed at the bestowal of the title that she has gone into hiding in shame, especially at the refusal of the Doge to bestow the title once granted.

The Empress of Kelp has also formally granted titles of peerage (Baronies) in the vast and nigh unlimited lands of the Empire of Kelp, as well as the Order of the Silver Conch.

The death of the prince has caused a rivalry for the title of Heir among his three other sons, each forming a bond with the remaining power blocks - Yontor, Ohigattan and Lamplighter (taking the lead in Segglestaff's stead among that former power block.) This is somewhat ill timed or well timed in regards to the Constitutional Convention, since the nobility will not speak with one voice. It will improve the position of the cantons, who are quite deciding themselves on many issues (there are at least three major blocks in their own movement though on some things they are entirely united) but it does mean that there will be more complicated and potentially fractious negotiations. The position of Heir is officially constitutionally recognized since, barring major earth shattering magical discovery, the heir succeeds the Doge, which is why, despite being a Republic, the Doge receives the title of Royalty. Yontor's dynasty lasted 220 years before the discovery of the Mirror Tube, though the discovery of Self Replicating Runes would also have qualified. Historically each 'upturning' discovery has required more than the last, which, even in this burgeoning era of research would need to impressive indeed. The pleasure network of Sosori proved to be such almost, but the corresponding dangers to society are now viewed by key Societies (particularly the Red, Gold, Blue and Green societies) as a threat to Inglemia herself on par with unwatched religion, constructs or immortality. Sosori still enjoys a remarkably strong political position though, since once the Dogeship is passed, it takes a lot to remove it. This is doubly so given the clause in the constitutional contract that the Dogeship will not change until the 'war' is ended. Some in the senate say Iuz's crushing defeat qualify for this, whilst others believe until the threat of the conspiracy of Gods is entirely identified and dealt with, the War of Worship may continue indefinitely, an uncomfortable situation to say the least. Clerics in Temple Row object to this term strenuously and several Societies are moving to have the term kept from official government documents. That doesn't stop the press or the populace at large from using it as the popular term for this unusual time of troubles where the city is beset by threats on seemingly every side.

The Pleasure Network has begun to spread more in Inglemian society to the point where the Gendremain has given up trying to enforce the eidict of the Senate and asked for a magical solution to the problem. The universities are attempting to answer. The Hyper Enhancement is also real and spreading like wild fire. Inglemian productivity among the rich is in danger of plummeting.

The Spell Plague has been halted in Toril thanks to the quiet intervention of some Inglemian wizardry, but the gate is sealed and the damage to that world is still considerable.

Toril has been sealed off an quarantined by Ether due to a horrific spell plague that is ravaging the lands.

The Beholders have smashed the Confederacy fleet sent against them and are pressing their gains in the world above...so say a few wizards who bother to scry them. The subject of Spelljamming is becoming of interest to some in Inglemia.

Rumors of Shardi Self Replicating Runes are confirmed and efforts to stop them from creating it have failed. Their first templates have been demployed and it has a tremendously beneficial effect on their society, though at the moment they only have First Circle runes. Their ability to reverse engineer them is greatly increased though, since once the knowledge exists, leapfrogging on Inglemia's efforts is not as hard. The Iosalian Elves have also discovered Psionic Self Replicating runes of a sort and are enjoying prosperity...and enhanced military ability.

The halfling wizards have indeed found a cure to the Madlander plague. This is problematic in a lot of ways; first because the underclass of cheap Madlander labor bolstered the Inglemian economy, but also because there simply isn't ROOM for all three races in the Madlanders at the moment so plague, war and starvation are very likely in the future of halflings, goblins and gnomes. This is all while the Goblin cults of the Lost Gods are coordinating their efforts and have concentrated their efforts of digging in four massive sites with puts in which thousands of them are working together. This is one of the reasons why all out war has not yet broken out since Goblin numbers are distracted and Gnome and Halflings are more...sane...even in their 'cured' phase.

Anti Elf sentiment in the Senate has stalled formal relations and alliance with the Cloud Kingdom. The Doge is outraged stating that the city needs all the help it can get. Indeed, the statements by Ohigattan and a few minor houses was SO incendiary that the Lumberjack Elves have taken offense, causing the Protectorate to formally complain. Rumor has it that elven nations on the Trade Network are also offended as well. This has actually caused Sharn to call off negotiations for an alliance indefinitely. Given that the physical appearance of the Imperium is that of Elves, they have recalled their negotiators and their ambassador.

The Protectorate and the Empire of Kelp have both sent representatives to talk with the Canton Council as a result of the Ohigatan incident, with many in both believing that the Senate needs...moderation.

The slavery raiders are indeed real and while Ether is holding them at bay, the bounty on the woman is only going up. Ether is requesting reinforcements and has already begun to hire foreign legions made up of otherworldly troops. These 'lost' legions are equipped with Inglemian gear and many in the Senate strenuously object saying Ether has no legal claim to do this.

Familiar protections are real and quite popular. The new strength bolster is selling like hot cakes, as is the Severability link which reduces health damage should something happen to the familiar on the wizard.

The number of unseen servants going rogue is also affecting Inglemian productivity. Since these are unlicensed constructs, the Construct Destruction Unit of the Gendremain has been expanded and pushed to capacity in their work.

The Hex Consortium has cut the price of 1rst circle replicating runes in half, selling slightly under cost to undermine the other consortium. Shard Markets now entering the markets also are competing, driving the cost of very low level magic items to the point where anyone can afford them. This is enjoyed a great deal by the populace at large but is bleeding smaller merchants dry.

The giant's castle is being investigated by the Elves of the Cloud Kingdom but thus far all have been slain. Major military units are being deployed.

The Resurrection Machine on Graveyard has not been found, and many now believe it to be a hoax.

Rumors

Polyshane is cementing is position as Major Divination house, but upon a divination has learned of a threat to this position not widely known and is taking steps accordingly.

Polyshane has a friendly and intelligent arbiter in their ranks who can help reconcile the different positions of the nobility.

Arglash has discovered a major research break through.

Arglash is making an alliance of secret marriage that matters.

A second faction in the Clockwork kingdom, friendly to Inglemia has stopped another from joining the Axis of Xarthak and are making quiet overtures toward Inglemia.

Corrigan Flint has been named King of the Dwarves without the Crown.

[Inglemia] Right Bastards - Session 3

Bill - Vithbad Schler - Mind Flayer Psi trapped in a Human's Body

Andrew - Gani Vihab (Wrinkles) - Shapeshifting Shaman from Animalia dedicated to help the wild who spends most of his time in the form of a dog.

Bernie - Hobbs - Demon from the Abyss who radiates evil but isn't. Has a nasty magic gun and eats magic items.

Andy H. - Darcy Charles Polyshane - Troubleshooting Nobleman who finds trouble and shoots it...for INGLEMIA!

John - Virgilous March Banks Chumley - Intelligent Honeybadger from Narnia who is looking for items stolen from him by an evil Inglemian Wizard.

The group discerns that the name of the ship is the IRS Samantha Dark. Upon investigation, they discover the ship is not only fully equipped but amazingly equipped as well. It has:

Fully stocked research laboratories and labs.

A full crew of hyperdedicated psi ghosts including 3 squads of Psi ghost Water Recon marines and 2 squads of Psi ghost Fire wizards

Two full barages of 10 Broadside Lightning Cannons with arachnesilk rotation to also provide trebuchets and magic missles

A forward mounted Anti Magic Ray which is also rotatable with a telekensis beam and a petrification ray

Rotatable defensive wards for protection against magic, elemental magics or self repair

An intelligent spirit capable of running the ship

A full compliment of flying carpets

A Moderately powerful cloaking device

They also ran into a complication in that ship would only acknowledge or work with a human captain, which basically defaulted to Darcy or the ship's mad enginer, Angus Setterdark. (Technically Wrinkles would qualify as human but that would require him not being a dog all the time....) since Virgil, Hobbes and Vithbad would definitely NOT qualify, despite Vithbad being inside of a human's body. Darcy made them all officers and they took various positions in the bridge.

The Right Bastards tracked down and locked on to the Iosalian ship which was guarded by four of the greatest champions of the Ring of Xarthak: Malgamous Rex, half dragon general and his giant dragon Terror; Valens of Iosal the master psychic, Mondok the sorcerer from the Shard, and Zzzzt, powerful Telekinetic Formori Warrior. The group managed to sneak up on the Iosalian ship. These champions attempted to attack the Samantha Dark, but thanks to brilliant tactical manuevering from Hobbes and Wrinkles (who had shapeshifted into an octopus to man three different stations) they not only protected the ship from their assault, but rapidly banked the ship and shot them with a full array of Lightning Cannons! Shortly thereafter, Vithbad and Darcy used the experimental teleporter to leap to the other ship behind their lines and take out their defensive psychics, thus allowing Virgil to teleport on board as well and sneak on to the bridge where he tore the captain limb from limb. Meanwhile, Darcy and Virgil shocked the entire crew once the shields were down and Hobbs and Wrinkles defended the Samantha Dark whilst continuing to pound the Iosalian ship to bits with barrage after barrage.

The Ring champions retreated to the ship, and the Right Bastards followed them into a giant cargo hold full of Xarthak destined for anti magic weaponry. A massive battle ensued. Mondok grew to a giant size, but Hobbes punched him and Virgil ganked his ankle. Darcy befuddled the crew in general but particularly damaged Valens, rending his psionic attacks useless, while Vithbad unleased psi blasts on the hoards of minions and onl Valens. Wrinkles turned into a number of things including a bat with hands but ultimately into a giant snake, which summoned forth snakes in crates (Snakes on an Airship!!!) and led them as vipers into the hostile Ring marines that were trying to set up powerful anti infantry weapons to assault the party. Hobbes had leapt across using a catapult and boarded on the side of the ship, rather than use the teleporter. Wrinkles also fried the dragon by ordering the crew to fire lightning guns at it. All of this was going on while Inglemian Psi Ghost wizards and Psi Ghost marines helped them assault the ship.

When all was done, Zzzt and Malagmous Rex were captured whilst Valens and Mondok were slain. The group had captured the barge full of both treasure and valuable weapons, depriving the Ring of Xarthak of a major victory.

[Grynn] Joker's Wild Session #2

Ace - Mara the Ninja Divine Mind Jester

Will - Calwen the Heretical Elven Spectromancer

Me - Tock Mandolin the Half Elven Half Houron Timelord

Grady - GM

The group came ashore and slowly started to cross the desert. In the process, they ran across two dragons fighting with each other. One was Aco Phasian who had been haunted by the Band of the Holy Wormhole and the other was Silven Mirage which had run away from the Joker's Wild group earlier after stealing their treasure. The Joker's Wild snuck up to them and attacked. Mara told Tock to pick up the empty bottle Silven used to be trapped in and wish her back in. Didn't work but subseqent illusions by the Four (npcs from Halrua) did successfully haunt him while the group concentrated their fire on Aco. Mara unleashed her dread dragon slayer while Calwen unleashed many spells of light, which were suprisingly effective. After a few monents, the dragon finally died. Silven then felt the party's wrath as Tock, Calwen and Mara and one of the Four surrounded it on all sides and hammered away. It did not use its breath weapon, instead fighting each of the group with tail, horn, claw and maw, since the group had widely spread out to avoid its breath weapon. Eventually, it too died. Mara ate the brain of Silven but was largely unaffected by it (having consumed so many at this point that it became difficult to gain much power from such weak dragons) but she did gain some extra resistance to lightning (sure to come in handy in the desert). Tock attempted to eat the heart of Aco, but succumed to its dire poisons and had his constitution greatly reduced. The group could not find the dragon's treasure, but using his Aftersight, Tock tracked it to nearby doom mountain. The group had no desire to follow after. Mara used her superior survival skills to cut up and divide the valuable dragon parts among the members of the group. Tock obtained some unusual parts (asking for some things the others did not) including the brain and spinal cord of one of the dragons.

The group then entered a city (name forgotten) known for its gambling and many markets, chaos in the heart of the desert. It was protected by the Simbul. As the group obtained an inn, they went shopping for some things. Mara helped Tock gain a cloak of resistance by making a deal with the local leathersmith. Meanwhile, Calwen was approached by a psychotic former NPC associate (name also forgotten) who had a running feud with the Cleric of Thor (Skreg's character) who insisted that they have a duel. Mara was most pleased to learn of this and planned on calling the psychotic character out as well. But first they were summoned to the palace where Storm Silverhand (acting as regent for the Simbul, who was a way on business), a dour looking elf and some other woman advisor of some kind waited for their tale. After having obtained courtly rainments (courtesy of Mara) the three of them recounted much of the tale of the Band of the Joker's wild. They were impressed, and a quiet deal in which the Joker's Wild's store in Justiminum would serve as an espionage and merchant front for Desert City. The group also made arrangements to have some magics cast on their items (including Tock's cloak) in exchange for some dragon parts.

[Inglemia] - Five Element Majors - Session 5

Cullen - Enchante

Brady - Auranos

Will - Bjorn Ogreshaft

Skreg - Martel Mirtaeveous

Ace - Mr. Green

The group was meeting with the Segglestaff brothers at Martel's request. The group discussed several things with them, including what had happened to the Clear Society. The group basically found out that Wolfram and Heart had been causing problems ever since they made the deal to take on Ohigattan to obtain the Dogeship, but by the time they found out about it, it was too late, so they've been in hiding. They produced the Oathstone, and since then the Five Element Majors have now become the most active and recent chapter of the Clear Society. They were given an oath for each of their new tattoos, and they all said Yes. Enchante expressed some reluctance at first but eventually agreed.

The group was summoned to the Orihculchum throne by the Doge. His son had been placed in a tear dropped shaped silver recepticle with a curious note and a riddle claiming to 'help' them. They were given seven difficult tasks and only seven days to complete them. The group set to work immediately.

Their first task was to 'change the polarity of the node from white to black' which they accomplished by at first trying to use wands to change the node, but once inside the node the power of it caused the nodes to malfunction. After getting into an argument with the head of the Node Guard, he flipped a switch and accomplished it immediately, but not without setting himself up as a target for increased pranking in the future.

The second task was to set up a will with Wolfram and Heart. After hiring their own lawyer, Mason Parry, Martel set up an iron clad will that involved giving all of his items to an estate for oprhans upon his death. They found and eliminated several loop holes but the contract is still in effect.

The third task involved entering the ruins found in the pearl door in the city of BluePort. Upon entering, they found an ancient Gold Dragon trapped in the body of a demon who held some kind of dire secret threatening kelp. In the process of fighting it, Enchante was trapped in its body while the group worked out how to fix the situation. Upon examining the treasure buried in the vaults, they found many items including a scroll to transfer the possession of the demon to something else. They also found a staff of the serpent, which they used to turn into a snake and then 'possess' the demon, which was then converted back into a staff. The group also found a powerful ancient book of prophesy and a lens that could indicate when that propshesy was relevant. They also found a curiously lucid history of Inglemia. Enchante was freed and they moved on to the next tax.

The fourth task involved retrieving the ancient crown of the King of the Mountain dwarves. As they moved along, they killed several ropers. They also ran into the Lich that they had stopped from opening the door to ravenloft, who proceeded to cast a single delayed spell before they killed him. The group, vowing to hunt down his psychaltry, suddenly found themselves fighting an evil twin of themselves, identical in power but without their gear. The battle was tough but they managed to pull it off. After overcoming several rather nasty traps, they managed to obtain the crown.

The fifth task involved bearding Iuz in his den, so they traveled to the Third Air Fleet, just as they were about to fall. Using the cubic gate, the group saved the fleet just as it was about to go down, and at the same time reversed on of Iuz's "God Bombs" sending it right back at him with the full remaining barage of the fleet and shattering the mirror. They also used a single use ancient artifact from the Inglemian vaults to utterly destroy his headquarters and banish his demon and undead army back to their respective planes, thus seriously damaging the cause of the Ring of Darkness. Or at least one of its major members.

The sixth task involved dropping a drop of blood on the sword of Elric of Melnibone. They accomplished this by using a powerful wish spell to travel there, and after a series of negotiations with trade between Melinbone and Inglemia, succeeded in getting Elric to let them accomplish their task.

However, upon attempting to accomplish the seventh task, they discovered that all wish scrolls in Inglemia had vanished, so they were forced to use a spell jamming ship to try and blind the Beholder King, but due to an attack by pirates and several storms, were greatly delayed in this journey.

The group are celebrated as mighty heroes of Inglemia but it is a bitter sweet celebration since the Prince still died.

[Inglemia] 5 Element Majors - News November 2012

The Third Air Fleet has been reduced to a third of its strength as Iuz has sent out a number of "God Bombs" which, when sent through the Mirror Tube cause tremendous damage. The Airships have had to close distance to fire at the ships that come through but then retreat when a "God Bomb" is sent. They are holding the line, but barely.

The trial of House Segglestaff has been rendered. House Segglestaff has been found guilty of consorting with the enemies of Inglemia. An Office of Special Inquisition, independent of all houses, has been set up to investigate the taint in Inglemian society by these hostile forces, as well as to root out the dire influences of House Segglestaff. Many individuals are now being tried. House lands in the cantons have been ceded temporarily to the Doge. House worlds are ceded to Ether and will soon be reauctioned. The House is elevated to Minor status, thus elevating Polyshane.

The Tidal Wave generator was activated and sent toward the City of Blueport. Thanks to a Water Recon team dispatched at the last minute, they were able to shut down the device before it did much damage. Thus the wave destroyed some ships but did not cause massive damage to the structures. The citizens of Blue Port are immensely relieved. Unfortunately, out of a panic, some of the ransom was paid directly from the Blueport treasury, some 5 million gold has arrived in the hands of the renegade prince.

People like the Pleasure Network, and have paid to have it installed privately, despite its illegality. The Invisible Consortium has done quite well for itself by selling the enchantments required and it is rumored that there are several renegade members of Sosori helping them do this.

Ohigattan was, in fact, actually rearming as were many of the houses. Local members of the civil defense forces attempted to assure the houses that they were quite well defended, thus discouraing most of the other houses from rearming but Ohiggatan was not to be deterred. They didn't strike on Sosori or Yontor, but with Segglestaff being as weak as they were, house troops assaulted many Segglestaff buildings, laying waste to many of their holdings. The fate of the members of the house are largely unknown, but Segglestaff is absolutely on the run, with only minors spared. It will be decades before the house is restored, and many are calling for the creation of a new divination house from scratch.

In light of the recent destruction of the Third Air Fleet, the Doge has called for a major increase in funding for Air. All of the houses unanimously agreed with major spending calling for the creation of 3 new air fleets. Their completion is estimated to take six months. Sosori also attempted to initiate an expansion of across the board military spending, with Ohigattan opposing except for Earth and Fire. Yontor lent its opposition for expansions of Water and Ether Services with the Red Society leveraging behind the scenes, essentially saying, "We're at war! Are you mad?!" Expansion of Water was effectively blocked. Ether didn't really have very many people advocating for it since many still regard it as a Segglestaff project but the Red Society fought for it, as did many merchant guilds who demanded the trade through the mirror tube continue.

Just when things looked most grim for the relations between Inglemia and her Cantons, a direct effort by Martel Mirtaeveous enabled good will for all involved. By personally approaching each of the houses, as well as visiting (with magical assistance) each of the 20 cantons, he assuaged egos and helped them put their differences aside. With the parties good standing with Sosori, the Doge did not like the idea of empowering the Cantons, but agreed to hear their redresses with the noble houses and Cantons working together to create a new constitutional framework with the caveats that the Dogeship would remain intact for the duration of the war (reluctantly agreed by all parties) and that the fundamental principles of Inglemia as a city of wizards and magic first was agreed. This is expected to be a major battle of wills, factions, politics and philosophies.

However, with their star on the rise, Sosori teamed up with the Yontor block to initiate the Obligations of Nobility Act, providing firm enforcement mechanisms on the nobles and the noble houses, both to 'set an example' for the Cantons (and thus reduce their bargaining power) but also the 'enhance our moral purity in light of recent Segglestaff scandals.)

Indeed, the only piece of Segglestaff's legacy remaining intact was the failure of Sosori to also pass the Obligations of the Citizenry act. Yontor and many of the other houses including former allies of Segglestaff voted to block it, believing it set a horrible precedent in light of constitutional negotiations with the Cantons.

An attempted coup de etat by forces friendly to the renegade prince in Kelp were defeated by a combined force of Kelpian military and a 2nd water Recon force.

The rumor of giants in Midgaard proved to be utterly false.

Toril has been sealed off an quarantined by Ether due to a horrific spell plague that is ravaging the lands.

Recon troops sent to examine the Beholder Presence on the moon indicate that they started to build a facility there but abandoned the project in a rush. No beholder ships have been seen in the area. A few scholars are suggesting Inglemia modify a few airships with Spell jammer helms.

Fire Command ordered the Sixth Legion to Blueport to help with rebuilding efforts. Since the disaster passed, they are staying...just in case.

Water Command has consolidated its agents in the 2nd Deep Cover unit to infiltrate Shard and disrupt their efforts to reverse engineer Self Replicating Runes.

The Hex Consortium is going to cut the price of 1rst circle replicating runes in half, selling slightly under cost to undermine the other consortiums.

The Canton [fixed] delegation is trying to get Harshai Tenethoth, a celebrated veteran and retired lawyer of unimpeachable character from Blueport to lead their faction in the constitutional discussion.

Blueport has unearth a shimmering pearl ruin whilst repairing the damage. It is thousands of years old and no one knows what to make of it, but it is believed to be the entrance to some unusual ruins.

The Empress of Kelp is considering awarding the Order of the Silver Conch to the marines who helped her as well as those who had the forsight to deploy them to her aid.

A confederation [fixed] of many worlds have joined together out in the Phologiston to fight by a newly aggressive Beholder Tyranny...and they are losing.

Adventuring Groups hired by 5E Command to infiltrate HoD's efforts to investigate gravestone have found that they are looking for a resurrection machine capable of bringing large numbers of people back to life.

Goblins (currently in the madphase) have been confirmed by the Third Recon branch of water to be much more aggressive and actively digging in a known number of high magic sites. What they are looking for is not known since telepathic magic is notoriously difficult on Madlanders when in their Mad phase. Meanwhile Gnomes are ending their Wander phase early (2 months) and returning to the Madlands which will potentially lead to crowding issues in the cities since the Halflings are still there.

The Red Society is trying to drum up more volunteers in the Cantons to speed up the creation of the brigades.

The Canton Council is asking for support from the Protectorate and the Empire of Kelp in their bid for more say in Inglemian politics.

The Protectorate is well disposed towards the Canton Council.

The Empire of Kelp does not like the Canton Council due to Segglestaff's previous sentiments towards them and is cool to their efforts.

A large number of Earth Mercenaries are being hired and brought in to Inglemian areas on Earth. They don't seem like nice guys.

Ether has begun to recruit off world legions to bolster their numbers.

The Beholder Tyranny is developing more powerful spell jammer ships.

Strange things are afoot in Melnibone. Odd magics and individuals are seen traveling the skies.

[Grynn] The Joker's Wild - Session 1 (Tock Mandolin)

Ace - Mara the Ninja Jester

Brady - Belven the Ten Town's Ranger

Will - Calwen the Heretical Elven Spectromancer

Me - Tock Mandolin the Half Elven Half Houron Timelord and Random Accidently (for about 30 seconds)

Grady - GM, also NPC's Renegade Thay Wizard Chick and The Four From Halrua

Random Accidently, the guy who had been spontaneously created by two wizards hanging out with each other, decided that he was going to cease to exist, but that he would provide the party with a replacement, so reaching out into the ether, he pulled Tock Mandolin out of thin air.

Random then exploded, and in a shimmer of lights, Tock was standing there instead. Tock, who had been waiting to be in a dragon school was, needless to say, quite shocked and severely annoyed. The rest of the Joker's Wild were also annoyed, both for having little bits of Random on them, but also for the stow away that had appeared out of nowhere.

After an initial very tense stand off, no blows were struck. Tock learned that the group was on a secret mission somewhere in the southern part of the continent, half a world away from where he had been. No, they wouldn't tell him where it was. No, they wouldn't visit the isle of Lantan to use the portal they had discovered there to travel more quickly. They didn't know him from Adam.

Things had gone from tense to frosty. They didn't really like Tock, and he really didn't like them; mainly due to circumstances. Tock retired below and read books he'd seen in his mind (with his perfect memory.)

Then, the young Blue Dragon that Tock and the rest of the Holy Band of the Holy Wormhole had fought showed up and attacked the ship (validating that Tock was telling the truth, though that hardly changed any minds). Tock opened fire with his Holy Shotgun of Awesoness and Calwen unleashed a rainbow blast of death and doom. The Four, four adventurer's as part of the secret mission with the Joker's Wild, were of no help whatsoever. Mara and Belven attempted to harm the dragon but were unable to penetrate its thick skin with ranged attacks.

The Dragon breathed lightning on Tock, but realizing it was getting its ass kicked, flew away before the group could kill and then sell/eat it. Tock wanted to chase it, since he was certain the dragon would talk to other Blues and provide information about the unguarded portal and endanger the gnomes, but the group had no real way of persuing the creature.

Things were tense on the ship, and then land was sighted. Tock was going to leap overboard and swim to shore when he grew curious at Mara's behavior. He spoke to her body guard, the disguised renegade wizard of Thay, who said only bad things about the group's behavior...which actually made Tock see them in a more positive light. He didn't really like the bodyguard.

He spoke to Mara and learned that the group were ambassadors of Cormyr, displaced half way across the world like he was, but also working to heal the old man of the Four who had a ...thing...on his back and could not be allowed to know what they were doing. Hence why they could not use the portal. More importantly, Tock learned that the group had lost over half of its number, including her former lover, another good friend, the incredibly brilliant and handsome Alchemist Viper Hathan, and a few others that had been randomly disintigrated in a moderately pointless attempt to burgle a dead wizard's appartment.

Tock was sympathetic to this and expressed his desire to return but moreover to fight the Mind Flayers that were invading Grynn from the underworld. He agreed to help the group.

Upon landing, the group was approached by a giant dog, that Belven befriended. Calwen got the idea to make a familiar, initially of the dog, until Mara suggested he use his Sunstone instead. Everyone contributed something, including Tock, who gave the Universal Remote he'd picked up from the Gnomes. The familiar was created in a shimmer of light and power.

Mara, noticing Tock had contributed to the group, healed him of the last of the damage from the dragon. On land, the Joker's Wild then resolved to go on towards the Temple of Lathander.

[Inglemia] Five Element Majors Session #4

Cullen - Enchante

Brady - Auranos

Will - Bjorn Ogreshaft

Skreg - Martel Mirtaeveous

Ace - Mr. Green

The group had learned through Bjorn Ogreshaft's investigations that the undead plaging Charport had in fact been secret constructs of Ravenloft, later tampered with by another diety and later still taken over by a local necromancer and used to inflitrate. They were largely like living creatures but still were vulnerable to some kinds of holy magic and most magics that affected the living. Martel had done some investigation of the clear society and discovered that there were three living members but they had laid quiet for some time because they were cursed due to their interactions with a demonic lawfirm from Earth.

The group rode out toward Blackstone, the ancestral home of the necromancer, traveling either by tattoo (Mr. Green) or Zanzibar. They had to bypass a black cloud that surrounded the area that wanted to push them into the negative material plane and nearly did so. Upon entering, they killed four giantic zombie ogres and three gigantic wyverns. They did the same thing to fourteen 'Pod People' undead that possessed the shells of fourteen stone giant elders. The battle was fierce but the group succeeded by might (Green and Ogreshaft) and Cunning (Echante who summoned other members using the tattoos) and Zanzibar the Flying Carpet (Auranos and Martel).

Using Echante's knowledge of architecture, they found a secret door into black stone. They bypassed a few traps and utterly ignored the table full of food, some of which had poison. Upon investigating one white corridor with a mirror at the end, they decided to investigate the other rooms. They found a library (nobbed many of the tomes), a room full of glass statues, one of whom they revived (A woman trying to kill the local necromancer), and then they went to the Lich's room.

The Lich was trying to open a permanent portal to Ravenloft. They stopped him but only barely, but did not find his psychaltry but did loot his corpse. Mr. Green ended up using a Sphere of Anhiliation to destroy the portal before it could open. Enchante was driven insane with a symbol of insanity and now has megalomania. Auranos nearly died but managed to just BARELY live thanks to the added health from the fifth tattoo.

And there was much rejoicing as the group looted the lich's corpse.

[Grynn] Band of the Holy Wormhole

Band of the Holy Wormhole Spoony (Edward) 14st level Human Bard - Brady Athoth - 1rst level Assimar Platinum Knight - Will Tock Mandolin - 2nd level Half Elf Half Houron Timelord - Tom/T-Rex Creed Pokey/GM - 0-1rst level Gnome Red Shirt - Cullen Blackthorn/Grady The group assembled to go to Latham, the island of the Gnomes to get them involved in the greater war and for the good of the world. Upon arriving they discovered there were three guilds there. The Talespinner's Guild, the Scrivner's Guild and the Crystal Makers Guild. The group visited the talespinner's first and learned of Aco Phi Sian the biggest dragon in the world that had taken over the island and was asleep, and a magical tree it had planted. Also, they learned of gnomish treasures sealed in barrels. Spoony would finally have something to have a proper tale about and join the guild! At the scrivner's guild they learned more history about the island including the location of the Dragon's cave. The group welcomed their member Athoth who helped to translate Gnomish history. At the Crystal guild they learned of treasures that had been taken. Tock, wanting to join, was told that if they could free the island from the dragon then he would be a welcome member of the guild. Tock swore they would try to do this. Then they went to the radio shack. Tock bought a universal remove and still owes Spoony 6 gold he gave him to buy it. It has proven of no use whatsoever. But it makes Tock feel less deprived for not having his Dimensional Wand. The group was going to leave but realized there were buildings not yet exploited in the small town. They went to the inn and picked up a single adventurer who would happily join them, Creepy Pokey, the Gnomish trap maker and expendable red shirt who was, in fact, a valuable member of the party. He was armed with the crow bar the group had acquired and a metal trash can lid. More people were attempted to be recruited but it did not work but Spoony did an inspiring performance speaking of the group's promised deeds. The group went to [eidetic memory fill in here] which sold stepping disks and such and were depressed. Tock filled out a pre employment form for when the planar barrier would go down. The group swore they would attempt to bring it down and this cheered up the gnomes. With no more buildings left to explore the group went to the cave. They encountered three very stupid serpent men who were promptly killed. Three dark holy symbols were burned by Athoth who was promptly blessed by his god. Athoth also found the hidden pouch with the black vial which Spoony cleaned with his cantrip. Tock used hypnosis to help the group through the psychic web. The group then used the black vial to kill the orange ooze. They waited until nightfall to make the bat go away. They used Tock's aftersight to spot the dragon's familiar and then searched for it and killed it. Athoth challenged the dragon to combat who turned out to be the 2nd weakest dragon in the world, and despite valiant efforts was getting its ass handed to it save for fortituous events: Upon taking of the fruit of the utopia tree, Tock had a single wall of fire that did nothing to the dragon...BUT, the barrel full of gunpowder rolled into said wall did. Spoony's music made a huge difference in damage every round. Creepy Pokey's telepathic understanding of the dragon's thoughts let him hit it. Athoth destroyed the altar of tiamat with a single blessing from his god. Still the dragon breathed on Athoth, nearly killing him. Tock was nearly thrown through the portal but his mastery of portals let him stay, open the barrel with the Holy Shotgun of Awesomeness which really REALLY hurt the dragon, combined with a critical longsword hit from the paladin. Alas, the dragon was not dead and ran away. Trapped on the other side of the psychic web, Creepy would tell the town they were free. The group went through the portal which lead to [insert ededitic memory thingy here] a city with a big tower and a dragon school (according to rumor.) They split treasure, rested, sold barrels, and went to the tower. They found a secret entrance and went up into the tower and met [insert eidetic memory here] who told them many useful things.

[Inglemia] Five Element Majors - News Post Pre: Session 3

News - Greyhawk has fallen. Iuz has found the gate. Precautions taken to stop him from doing such have failed. However, his fleet tech is terrible and primitive and as soon as anything leaves through the gate, the Third Air Fleet Lightning Cannons it to tiny little bits of cosmic dust.

Segglestaff (most of the top house) is on trial for consorting with demonic influences to achieve victory over Ohigattan. Inquiries have begun. No charges are yet being brought but rumor has the evidence is quite extensive.

Rumor of the theft of the tidal wave generator is now confirmed, and a rogue member of the House of Kelp is demanding 100 million gold, 1/2 the treasury of Inglemia to prevent launching a tidal wave at Blue Port, Inglemia's second most propserous city. Nothing is known to be able to stop a Kelpian Tidal Wave once generated. The inhabitants of the city in a panic and are attempting to flee.

People are enchanted with the new Five Element Majors and are attempting to learn as much as possible about them. Some have rumors but substantial rumors and sums of gold are being paid to learn more. Thus far, public activities short of them stopping a shipment of Xarthac weapons are largely unknown. People are learning more fast.

The Pleasure network that put Sosori in power has been put on hold as subliminal messages have been found in the programming inside. People are not happy.

They decide to check out the stolen cloud island. They check out a known bar with ties to one of the Iron Horse Gang which they believe stole the island. They take a magic portal to an area between worlds...something hideous and ancient asks if they want to join it. They pretend to but it discerns their intent. The group flees to the island and tricks the Iron Horse Gang into a portal to Raven Loft through a magic portal. They return the cloud island to the Cloud Kingdom.

Session 2

---------

Group decides to investigate the situation at Greyhawk. Upon arrival, they discover it in a state of siege. They run but then sneak into Iuz's castle. They obliterate a Balor in one round to prove that they are actually Loki. They gather some intelligence and then run away. In the process, they discover a conspiracy of Gods to take the Inglemian trade network. They warn the Doge in Waiting of House Sosori, and guard his life. The Doge listens to them and believes them, and in the process they expose a known traitor. The new Doge is elected, but as this happens, an atomic bomb from Earth is discovered and disarmed by the party. The Doge names them Five Element Majors that answer directly to him and have enormous power in the Inglemian government. Everyone wants to know more about them.

End of the First Aeon

Χαος removes his cloak of darkness from the world, and blasts a large forested area of the planet with concentrated chaos and uncertainty, anchoring his enchantment to the very fabric of reality.

Within this area, nothing is constant. Even the laws that govern nature itself find themselves twisted and random. Creatures that venture in wander around in a fugue, and leave the area changed... sometimes in subtle ways, other times not so subtle. Some enter and are never seen again.

And there was much rejoicing as the sun returned. The Forest of Chaos arises, and as wonderous as it is, most avoid it for they fear the effects it has upon them. Some creatures adapt to the chaotic environment and are wonderous and terrible indeed.

Far below in the subterranean tunnels carved by the Dragons, down one of the deepest branches, an earthquake opens a small passageway into a hidden grotto. Χαος touches the mind of a lone Alexandrian known for his love of exploring caves, and leads him to the passageway.

Inside he finds the remains of an ancient Elemental, and a most disturbing prophecy etched onto the cavern walls.

Four shall ride out
Three shall return
The icons of power
Shall they yield
When Titans sleep
And Gods have Gone
Then Only Shall Mortals Rule
But the Might of the Titans
Shall remain
Wielded in Object and Ire
To Ultimately Destroy the World
Unless A Path of Perfect Balance Is Found.

Menrva, Tinia and Uni split the Alexandrans into 3 groups and each god adopts one of the groups as their own. Menrva gives her people the gifts of the warrior. Tinia gives her people the gifts of the scientist and Uni gives her people the gifts of the mage. Alexandra retires to the heavens to watch what will unfold.

And so it is that the Farshoom and the Pathi sleep, for the Pathi are nearly wiped out and without the Pathi, the Farshoom have no purpose. As they sleep, so do all gods but Xyrear and the Three Sisters. The Shardi retreat to the tunnels, and the Dragons enter a long sleep but shall return in due time. The Elementals are eternal, but keep to themselves, so for a while the Alexandrians have the world to themselves and there is much peace, but the efforts and will of the titans begins to fade, as the Aeon passes. Word of the prophesy is recorded, and the Alexandrians prepare for the coming of the Gods, living in harmony with the world.

An obelisk arises with 10 gems set to preserve the world in its direst need.

Banio's efforts to create the Nothing is destroyed, a single action chosen by the Void, by right of Decree to revoke.

Finally, just as the last efforts and influences of the titans fade, echoes and emblems of the power, and a single item of great power is taken and hidden, captured until the Third Aeon, representing the power of each Titan (save Banio who was never a true Titan to begin with.)

And so ends the Aeon.

(Thanks to all my players. Details on the next game to come soon ;) )

Three Aeons - 3rd Era

So that they may be enlightened, Sawda-Saiph introduces skepticism to the world.

And so there was much skepticism, and disbelief in the world. This primarily has the effect right off the bat of lessening ALL of the powers of the gods by a significant degree, and given the general level of destruction and doom, this is damaging to them, but it is particularly damaging to Pathi and his three 'children gods', which leads to a counter assault by the three city states that remain, killing many, though they are still badly outnumbered.

Alexandra, in a mischievous mood, introduces asexual reproduction to the world.

The Void, also in a mischievous mood, decrees that the world is coy, gives flowers to itself and reproduces four or five times. This causes a mighty earthquake which is felt by all on the world, as four (or perhaps five) tiny worldlets go floating off into the heavens that have ocean, an atmosphere, a penchant to eventually grow and the seeds for life.

Χαος awakens to find the world in a great state of flux. Madness and order, betrayal and growth... clearly things have been exciting in his absence. New Laws to constrain the creativity of chaos. New Gods scurrying around like ants, believing they have the power to move worlds. These upstarts will need to be put in their place. All in good time.

Time to mix things up a bit.

Reaching out into the world, Χαος gathers bits of essence from all the major races: dragon scales from the slumbering lizards deep in their lairs; bits of living crystal from the Shardi; fire and ice and rock from the elementals. All beings, even the Pathi, contribute to his collection. Drawing life force from the spirit of the planet itself, Χαος uses his diverse conglomerate of materials to fashion a new race.

From the spirit of the planet, as all things are connected in some small way, the entire new race is connected in a very large way. Strong mental acuity links each individual with the whole, regardless of physical distance. Working as a sort of hivemind, each individual has a sense of free-will through his own actions, yet all thought and emotion passes through and is felt by the collective - at least partially, if not fully. In the same manner, all Karma passes through the collective... good karma from one group balancing and cancelling out negative karma from another group.

From the Dragons, this new race gains the power to alter. Not the environment like the Dragons, but themselves. Using this power they are able to shift and blend in with any race they come in contact with. Combined with their psionic tendancies they are also able to communicate in the same language as the race they are mimicking.

From the Alexandrians, a broad sort of wisdom and intelligence that allows them to operate their hivemind fluidly on such a large scale, and quickly grasp complex ideas. However, also from the Alexandrians comes a touch of their madness. The pleasure and pain parts of their brain fuse such that they feel neither emotion individually, but rather a complex mashing of the two regardless of the stimuli.

From the Shardi, the abilty to see how things interact with each other. Less from a physical engineering point of view, and more from the cerebral conceptual side. Combined with the wisdom from the Alexandrians, and their own innate chaotic birthright, leads to schemes and machinations on a global level that would drive one to insantiy if they tried to unravel and comprehend them.

From the Pathi, ambition and a feeling of superiority, as well as an understanding of death and how it fits in the circle of life.

From the Elementals, the patience of those who measure time in centuries instead of hours. For while an individual may have a short life, the hivemind will live forever.

Satisfied with his creation, Χαος spreads them far and wide through out the planet. As their first test, to prove their worth to their creator, he compels them to begin plotting to exterminate every last Pathi. Because after all, a god with no followers is not much of a god.

Χαος creates a new race, and compels them to plot the genocide of the Pathi

The Farshoom are created, and mighty are they to behold. They are vast in number, and their belief is strong. Their belief is in the titan Χαος, who cannot use such power (and really what would he need with it anyway?) but they are young and mighty. Their ignorance gets them in trouble at first as their arrogance at first makes them unpopular with some, but the deeper individuals around them, especially the Alexandrian seers, they are soon recognized for the potentially they hold. Within a generation, their numbers begin to swell, and they are slowly turning the tide against the Pathi. Within three generations, they have become the dominant race on the planet, crushing the Pathi in war again and and again, such that even the Pathi's twisted reality ...twisting...ability is not enough to stop their relentless march. It is truly the Age of the Farshoom, and mighty are their works of stone.

And their firm unyielding belief in Χαος is such that both Klensar and Pathi are reduced in power. Klensar is pleased that his foe is being weakened but displeased in his reduction in power....and broods.

Χαος officially announces his presence to the world. His Obelisks flare violently to life and lightning spider-webs through the sky as his presence palpably rumbles across the atmosphere. Chaotic particles pop to life from the aether and fade from reality randomly. Entire species of plants get written out of existence, only to be replaced by something even more complex.

Eventually things settle down to a rather omnious silence.

Χαος makes his return well known.

The world is in shock and awe at this. Pathi trembles and curses, Klensar is pleased at some form, any form of hope against the encroaching darkness. The races of the world are generally happy (except of course the Pathi) with the Shardi and the Dragons in particularly pleased, and the Dragons pour forth from their waiting chambers in the center of the earth and get ready for war.

Χαος releases a weak form of the rust plague amongst the Shardi, specifically mutated to affect their crystalline make-up.

Shardi Rot is indeed a blight upon the race, and it inflicts much misery. The Farshoom develop a powerful medicine which reduces its effects, but it is by no means a cure.

Alexandra gives birth to three gods: Menrva, Tinia and Uni and sends them to the surface of the planet. The three find the highest point near Alexandra's children, and upon it create a temple, a dwelling for themselves. Near the temple. Tinia strikes the ground with his staff and a large rock emerges from the ground; Uni transforms the rock to a fountain with three faces, with open mouths; Menrva causes water to pour forth from each of the the mouths in the fountain. They wait to see what the Alexandrans will do.

And so Menrva, Tinia and Uni are born. They instantly make a positive impact on the Alexandrians and a temple is made where the worship flows in. In only a decade their theoretical power exceeds that of their mother. Uri makes the fountain and it is blessed, that all who enter it are healed.

Χαος alters the Shardi Rot to be bioluminescent.

And there was light.

Χαος infects the remaining Pathi with the sporadic madness that curses the Alexandrians.

The Pathi have set up Pathi farms so that they can reproduce in ten times their number. Their dark and twisted discipline helps them accomplish this and the tide begins to turn again...until periodically 1 in 10 of them decides that looking at the stars for four or five months at a time and doing nothing else is fun. Or composing poetry.

It should be noted, that Pathi poetry largely consists of torture, rape and making non Pathi miserable....and it is horrifically written, but the sheer randomness of it makes the disciplines required by the farms impossible as they all turn on each other, with whole clans of Pathi turning on each other, allowing the Farshoom to mop many of them up.

Χαος cloaks the world in absolute darkness.

And the world is cloaked in darkness, a thick layer directly underneath Alexandra's shielding shroad but that still obfuscates the sun. And the plants begin to die again, but most of them, bottlenecked by the last time this happened, have seeds, merely awaiting living light again.

Banio creates the Nothing, which shall consume all things upon the end of the Aeon.

By Void decree, the Vale of Tiitloc shall be immune to this, but so shall the sun, stars and moons since they predate death. The Nothing may be stemmed with three acts countering it.

Banio covers the world in a never ending petulant rotting smell that all races can sense and experience as unpleasant.

And the world is covered in a never ending stench of great foulness. And there is much misery. Belief in general plummets.

Banio robs the world of sleep.

Without sleep, there is no dreaming and without dreaming, the creatures of the world, save the Shardi, who never slept, madness and despair slowly covers the world. The Alexandrian poetry becomes morose and dark, waxing fond of imagined memories of the sun and of fresh air. The Dragons, freed of the balancing curse, actually enjoy their wakefullness and soar about the world, trying to ignore the ever present rot around them.

The Three Aeons - Gap between Era 2 and 3, First Aeon

And so it was the Titans went to sleep, though still cognizant of the world. Their tremendous power allowed them to see and hear and do many mighty things, but this last era had been troubling. There was ...change on the horizon. The word of the void had declared that in the measure of time, vast and measureless though that might be, they would eventually have give way to a new kind of ruling creature, Gods. Troubling as that might be, their new sibling, born out of the unused power that slowly accrued, had brought these troublesome creatures to live earlier than they might have otherwise. Being the first of their kind, these three became the Elder Gods, which later Gods would not have quite as much power as.

The First, Klensar, a being of order and engineering, in some ways similar to Tiitloc, born out of a fictional idea created by the Alexandrians in one of their increasingly fantastic stories. It told of a race of humanoid people with pale skin, obsessed with order and cleanliness who served Tiitloc in a mighty realm in the heavens. Eventually, Klensar became real through belief in him, and so it was that the Cult of Klensar was born among all races but Dragons, for while the Shardi were slow to 'forget' their allegiance to their creator, the order and power presented by Klensar appealed to them, and as the centuries passed, even they with their nigh infinite memories began to regard the titans as only legend.

The Second, Weaver, the creator God, served in the heavens by transluscent intelligent spiders, was born by Xaoc and Alexandra (in the beliefs of the mortal kind that tried to sell another fictional story that became legend and then truth), Weaver created many more varieties of animals and plants that began to populate the world. Weaver was also popular because it became known as a God of Birth, and was thus appealed to all, even a few Dragons, for hope in producing offspring.

The Third, Pathi, was a dark creature, born out of a corruption of the legends of Banio and Sawda-Saiph, who had two aspects. One was the righteous harbinger of death and the other was the psychopathic element of destruction, hell bent on destroying the world and all in it. His race, the Pathi, were able to twist the very forces of creation and engineering, like the Dragons and the Klensari, but twisted and used to extremely destructive ends. However it was then that Banio's last secret act was revealed, and the balanced nature of Pathi, created by the balanced belief of many races of the Elder God of Destruction and Death, became only destruction and so it was that like the Metal Men before them, the Pathi began to wage war on the populace.

The only thing initially stopping them the existance of Entropium. However, the twisted nature of the Pathi enabled them to come up with counters on a fairly rapid basis, and thus, Pathi altered the Pathi so that they were able to reproduce very quickly, creating a massive amount of belief. This created three new gods, the descendants of Pathi, Death, Destruction and Doom. They were each able to grant their followers magic that was able to overcome the effects of Entropium and pass the Law of Karma off onto others using complex and dark rituals.

The Law of Karma proved harder to fool than might be thought, however, for while it could be passed off against an individual for a while, it could not be put away for ever, thus leading to vast pyramid schemes of Scape Karmas who took the blame for thier dark master, all centering on a vast and powerful lord who would inevitably fall to a group of those blessed with an exceeding amount of Good Karma.

And so it was that seven cycles rose and fell with Seven Dark lords, held in check by Klensar and Weaver against Pathi and the dark gods that served under him. The races united, only to be thrown back. The Cartels eventually fell, to be replaced by the Cults of the Gods, to be replaced by the Seven Great Nation States, giant citadels built to wishstand the seasonal rise and fall of Pathi that bred to kill them only to be thrown back.

At last, towards the end of the interum, the Law of Corruption set in. The Dragons, as a price for their immortality, began to Sleep in proportion to the vibrancy and energy they expelled in life. The longer they stayed away and the mightier they lived, the more they had to sleep, leaving their most valorous and glorious asleep in the center of the earth when the eigth wave came. The price of the Power, was that the Dragons also were more subject to the Law of Karma than most. This led to some becoming uninvolved and unwilling to intervene in the world, and others retiring to the mountains. Without the mightiest race to help them, the alliances between the city states crumbled. The Alexandrians were cursed with spates of random spontanity and madness, sometimes lasting a day, sometimes years, usually proportional to the amount of wisdom that they had. The Shardi became cruel, often callous in their actions. The elementals having received no gifts, had no curses, but they had neither the might of the dragons, nor the short reproduction cycles or wisdom of the Alexandrians nor the engineering prowess or foresight of the Shardi.

Pathi could see that in this, the eighth cycle, he was winning, with four of the seven city states having fallen, with only the Mountain of Fire, the Valley of Tiitloc and the Citadel of Light (built around the Obelisk of Light) standing against the millions of Pathi that covered the surface and held a dinner where he hoped to negotiate with his siblings. He had dinner but poisoned Weaver, and left Klensar greatly weakened.

Pathi was certain to gain complete domination of the world, culminating ultimately in its destruction...

And then the Titans awoke a final time...

Three Aeons - First Aeon, Second Era, Last Day

Χαος sows the seed of a strong belief into the minds of the Shardi by posing the question, "What or who controls the passage of time?". Perhaps they should go out and make pilgrimages around to the world to his nurmerous Obelisks, searching for wisdom and answers.

The Shardi consider this idea and begin to make a slow monotonous trek, taking a very long time indeed, walking from obelisk to obelisk, contemplating the nature of time.

In the mean time, a truly golden age of commercial prosperity takes place in the world. In the years that the Shardi move about in their pilgrimage, people buy and sell much goods, build houses, find luxuries and enjoy the benefits of peace. Though Shardi come from many clans and locations now, the Pilgrimage of Obelisks now unites them on some levels once again.

Into the minds of the dragons, Χαος imparts the lost knowledge of their three patron Dragons; Hyperion, the brilliantly shining white dragon of Light. Erebus, the shadowy and mysterious dragon of Dark. Chrysos, the illustrious dragon of Gold. Χαος speaks of their slumber at the center of this world, and of the quest the Dragons should go on to waken them.

The dragons hear this and think its a swell idea. Of course, being all immortal at this point, they take a long time to decide exactly how they're going to do it, so they ponderously study and contemplate and eventually decide to try to find out the location of their three ancestors. They begin to use their innate powers to tunnel deep into the earth, creating a massive network of tunnels behind them.

The Alexandrians have a great time exploring these tunnels over and over again.

Banio decides that since he can't destroy the world, he's going to corrupt it. So he very carefully thinks with his tiny tiny brain and gets a flash of evil genius. He is, after all, made up of the discarded energy from the titans themselves.

He looks at the races and decides to make an unholy balance. There are two sides to every story, or rather, there will be. His side, and everyone else's. So he creates the Law of Balance which states that for every gift the titans gift to a race, they will develop a corresponding flaw. This is designed to go into effect during the interim between Eras.

Banio creates the Law of Balance, because there are Two Sides to every story.

In the mean time, in an utterly shocking move, the Metal Men have dug underneath Tiitloc's obelisk using special saps made of Light and Dark matter which allow them to dig tunnels with astonishing speed. They have dug a massive tunnel underneath the obelisk, which in turn causes it to collapse.

The titanic city at the top is filled with hundreds of thousands of Alexandrians, Shardi and Elementals, all of whom are instantly killed. On the other hand, with the collapse of the Blue Obelisk, the magnetic shield protecting the world vanishes in an instant, causing massive storms to begin building all over the world. Lightning from the newly created Blue Matter, which fills the valley of Tiitloc, shoots through the metal men, killing all of them, save one named Skaar, who rushes into the depths of the earth in the tunnels they made.

There are still many alive in the Valley of Tiitloc, however and using the tools provided them in the Cave of Preparation, they use their engineering skills to build a dome to shelter themselves from the storms with Blue Matter from the shattered obelisk.

Life becomes very difficult on the surface, with many seeking shelter in the huge cave complexes left by the dragons as they tunnel to the center of the earth. Other cities buy large amounts of Blue Matter from the valley of Tiitloc to shield their cities from the storms, and in the process the Valley of Tiitloc becomes richer than any other region on the planet.

Blue Matter becomes the currency of the realm.

But then, as the dragons tunnel downward, an enterprising Alexandrian discovers a strange new material. It is extremely curious because it works as an anti-entropic force. The way the force works is that when a sentient being performs an action that increases entropy they feel pain in proportion to the the increase in entropy. This is not a simple linear calculation, Creative efforts significantly offset the entropy of their creation.

So stacking a hundred rocks into a wall does not cause any pain, but knocking down that same wall causes something like a mild twinge.

Killing another being unnecessarily of course, causes a great deal of entropy and causes pain in proportion to the complexity of the being destroyed. (Kill a mouse, get a toothache, deicide would be torturous). The Alexandrians call this material Entropium and love it. They each forge an amulet made out of the stuff, and soon the anti destructive force begins to spread around the world, bring a second era of great peace.

Killing and violence happens, but at a significantly reduced amount. Those who take the lives of others use patsy's, pawns and labyrinthine conspiracies. A series of cartels come into existence each trying to jockey into position over the other.

Alexandra is horrified by all the carnage before her and that her people are doing peaceful things. To reinforce this she creates the Karmic Law of Three, which states that any good done by someone comes back to them as good three fold and bad done by someone comes back as bad three fold.

Alexandra's creates the second law created, and it is an extremely powerful one. The effects are not immediately seen, but the worst of the worst (primarily those who run the Cartels) tend to have this feeling of impending doom and it tempers their actions somewhat. Ironically, conversely, those who do the most good feel ashamed since they now sense on some inner level that they shall be rewarded for doing what was the right thing anyway. Eventually this foreshadowed feeling goes away and they ignore it, however the law starts out early in little ways with the most Machiavellian plans going wrong at the worst times and some who do good getting a reprieve at just the right moment. The Dragons seem the least affected by this, but they are the first to notice it. They postulate that since they are immortal, the law has longer to reward or punish them, respectively.

Alexandra scoops up some Entropium and makes a calming living shield around the planet to shield it from harmful things that attack it.

The living shield is created. The storms that have wracked the planet for a tenth of a dragon life time, a Shardi Week, and three generations of Alexandrians finally ends. Life outside of the Blue Matter domes becomes tolerable again, and a small but insane group of Tiitlocian followers begin rebuilding the Obelisk of Tiitloc, albiet using actual rock instead of Blue Matter. It is insanely slow going.

Alexandra sends out psychic wavelengths to the Alexandrians to gift them with exceptional wisdom in the form of higher consciousness that they might be able to become problem solvers, scholars and poets.

The Alexandrians suddenly become very wise. They're not particularly immediately sure what to do with this knowledge but enjoy the greater connection with Alexandra (while it lasts) and so develop great songs, stories and works of art. The Book of Proverbs is created, and the greatest of all secrets of wisdom are added to its pages.

Three Aeons - 2nd Era - Day Before the End

Tiitloc forges tools for the inhabitants of his temple to use to make other tools.

And there are many tools that are made to make many other tools.

Tiitloc, having grown tired of the chaos that has taken place since he was ripped from the fabric of space, expels himself from the planet's sun. The formerly formless Tiitloc channels himself over a solar flare and takes the shape of a great white dragon who rests on a throne of stone beneath the sun-bound obelisk. The Titan offers no further aide to the dragons; however, Tiitloc welcomes all who flee from the usurping metal men into his fortress.

And so a safe haven is made for all those who see to flee the chaos outside. The quickest way for people to enter is to literally meld into the stone so that as the metal men chase them they dash harmlessly against the rocks.

Life on the rest of the planet is not faring so well however, as the Metal Men have slowly begun to kill all other life. They have eliminated about a third of all living things so far outside of the valley. Their weapons are huge clawed metal hands and teeth that rend and tear all things around them.

Χαος implants ideas and blueprints to the minds of the Shardi for how to forge their crystals into more advanced armor and weaponry, and how to imbue them with Light or Dark Matter to furthur reinforce certain properties.

This helps the Shardi turn the tide with various Clans, making them rather slow (still) but incredibly destructive when they do move. The Shardi in Tiitloc's valley, combined with the tools that he has provided, create the most devastating weapons of all, and soon squadrons of Dragons, Phoenix and Djinn leave the fortress every day and kill mass amounts of Metal Men.

Χαος expands the dragon's understanding of warfare and tactics, and how to exploit their enemies weakness to their best advantage.

The Dragons, already highly intelligent, become master tacticians and begin to carry squadrons of Shardi Armored Shock troops which they drop into the middle of Metal Men who slaughter them in massive amounts. The tide of battle begins to turn, though the clans still fight heavily amongst each other. The Tiitloc Valley clan is more concerned about killing Metal Men though, and soon all of the other clans defer to them in fighting the war.

Χαος plucks a random bacteria from nature, and alters its genetic makeup such that it thrives on consuming the metallic Death Rock that the Metal Men consist of. These new bacteria are released upon the Metal Men like a virus.

The rust scourge is born. While it does interfere with some of the tools created by Tiitloc and the Shardi, it does FAR more damage to the Metal Men, causing them to rust at an accelerated rate whenever they band together, forcing them to disperse until they live in only the most remote parts of the world.

Tiitloc gifts his loyal followers with preliminary engineering, teaching the Shardi, dragons, and elementals how to terraform and shape the world to their bidding. Tiitloc encourages these beings who have sought haven in his temple to venture out and protect the exposed world from the forces of destruction.

They learn preliminary engineering. They slowly begin massive building projects all over the world, temples and fortresses and roads and aqueducts to make the world a better place and to better protect people in case Banio strikes back in some unforseen way.

Χαος introduces the concept of currency into the world.

Every race and every clan has a different idea of what constitutes currency. The Shardi use Light matter and Time, and accept little else. The Dragons value Light Matter, Dark Matter and Gold. The Elementals each value minerals reflective of their respective element, and titles to land nearest the obelisk of their same name. The Alexandrians value shells or a good song. The Metal Men are too few and far between to value anything but survival.

And there is much trading and the world begins to prosper.

Tiitloc, after many hours of inefficient communication, develops a spoken language to be spread from his castle to the rest of the world.
There is only one word: Tiitloc.

Until now, the races cooperated by instinct and strange grunting and inflection, save the Alexandrians, whose language had become the ...well...the Lingua Alexandra as it were, used by all races, but now a second language is introduced. True, while on the surface, it is maddening, with but a single word, Tiitloc, the sheer order of Tiitloc's mind forces his disciples to learn it in greater detail.

If the Eskimos of Earth have 750 different words for snow, the followers of the Vale suddenly have 10000 words for Tiitloc. It becomes all about how the word is said, and in context with the rest of the word, thus largely about context, pronuciation and inflection. Still, it is primarily a word of numbers, of order, of earth and of engineering. Both Alexandrian and Tiitloc are spread throughout the world, but one is the language of calm, every day things, and the other is the language of the Skies, of grand ideas, the Titans, of war, and of engineering and mathematics.

Banio can tell the end of the era is coming and takes advantage of the impending gap. While the Titans sleep, Gods shall arise, based on the beliefs of the various races that inhabit the world, whose power shall be derived not from the universe, but from the worship and thoughts of mortal sentient beings. And since mortal sentient beings have an infinite capacity to dream, so too shall their power be infinite.

Banio creates the Law of the Gods which states that during the second interim, Gods shall arise based on the beliefs of sentient creatures.

And so it shall be. Of course...that was what the Void was planning to do after the first Aeon anyway, but now strange new gods before the Gods of the Second Aeon, which shall inevitably come after the End of the Titans, shall come, and their power is indeed nigh infinite, held only by the dreams and aspirations of mortal kind.
