[Dark Metal] World's Beyond Number - Intro

Intro: Doctor Archelies deSombra aka "Doc Shadows" saw that the long term likelihood of victory for freedom and democracy in LATMA and decided to do something about it.  He created a starship that could travel through the umbral Deep Horizon so that it could access other shards.

He created a ship that traveled to a shard, staying for a week and then moving on to another.  There is a gate back to Earth that allows the revolution to import people, things and other items that they discover to help their quest.

OOC: World's Beyond Number is a new troupe trying to rekindle life on the ancient Dark Metal mush.   Currently, sessions occur every other Monday morning EST, from 9:30-1:30pm, with the next session on the 17th of October.  We have 2-4 players so far.

However, another session will likely open every other week if we get enough interest for a week night.

What Has Happened So Far: General Hawk and Darksight have inspected the ship and learned its mission.  They have decided to make preparations to go with the ship and begin their quest to free Latma.

Downtime: The game will allow downtime in a similar fashion to Vampire LARPS and will be focused on LATMA itself, so even if the core game doesn't interest you, you can play the 'core' game which will involve crafting, influencing, spying, researching, and fighting to free the citizens of LATMA from the corporate council and infamous METSEC which kills any Order 47 violator on sight.

The Ship:

There are 50 points for every starting player.  Right now thatis at 100, with 50 more each for firm commitments to join.  One the game starts, downtime points can be used to add or modify these.  The number in (X) is the number of points it costs to get this.  Some items will have prerequisites.

Category - Basic

Core:

The core of the ship contains a number of reality hard core points that will allow the ship to function.  The more hardpoints it has, the bigger its core stats and the more 'neat' things it can have as well.

(1) Destroyer - 4 Hard Points, 200 Crew, 200 Tons
(2) Cruiser - 6 Hard Points, 500 crew, 500 tons
(3) Heavy Cruiser - 10 Hard Points, 1000 crew, 1000 tons

Weapons:
(0) Auto Cannon - 8 Damage Impact
(5) Lasers - 10 Damage Energy
(7) Particle Accelerators 12 Damage Impact

Armor
(0) Titanium - 6 Soak Dice
(2) Ceramic Titanium Composite - 9 Soak Dice
(6) Carbon Nanofiber - 12 Soak Dice

Sensors
(0) Radar - 2 Perception
(4) Advanced Radar - 5 Perception
(7) Passive Lidar -8 Perception

Advanced - These technologies are optional.

Internal Folding - The folding of space is highly useful and when applied to technology allows  the ship to do highly interesting things
(0) - Single gate which links the ship to Earth and opens every 72 hours
(10) - Multiple Gates - The ship can create multiple gates to anywhere with an AU of distance, allowing easy interaction with the ground
(20) - The ship can internal pockets which can increase the internal storage space of the ship a great deal but which are not always accisble if jammed o the ship takes a lot of damage.
(30) - The ship can create gates to anywhere in the shard; horizon realms or far ships or the like. -OR- it may create a second gate which can go to a single shard that has been left in the past.

Awesonium - A highly powerful energy source from slightly altered matter
(0) - Allows the ship to pierce the deep horizon and power the basic elements of the ship and move from shard to shard.
(10) - Increase power of energy weapons by 5 dice.
(15) - Ship increases speed to be able to reach anywhere in the shard within a day
(25) - Hand weapons can be manufactured using it at a rate of 10 a month that do 12 dice of damage.

Pygmalium - Borrowed from Fading Suns this stuff allows AI construction - All but the first must be Specialized.
(0) - Current hostess (unnamed) AI capable of running any single system in the ship
(5) - 1 Additional AI
(12) - 2 Additional AI's
(25) - 3 Additional AI's

Databanks - Vast collected information from the sum of knowledge of Man's history as well as Doc Shadow's own library.
(0) - A data download of three to four regular libraries worth of material from LATMA.  +2 to research.
(5) - Doc Shadow's occult library - +4 to research
(10) - Doistep Online - +6 Research dice
(25) - Multiple libraries from nearly every splat imaginable.  The ability to pick up Lore 3 to anything as it applies to the home shard.  +12 Research dice.

Cloaking - The ability to keep the ship from being seen
(0) - Nothing.  It's a giant blip for anyone trying to find such things.  While the drive might allow the ship to enter or leave 'quietly' its actual existence sticks out like a sore thumb.
(8) - Arcaned - The ship generates a field similar to that of 'Arcane' making it harder in general to see.  +2 Difficulty in attempting to locate with non visual sensors.
(15) - Force Invisible - All forces go right through the ship that are conventional electromagnetic spectrum
(25) - Umbral Phasing - Carries a cloaked umbral shield making the ship effectively invisible spiritually as well as to spatial sensors
